Holidays in Ancient Greece

Return |

We know that in Ancient Greece there was communication between the cities. Ancient Greeks used to travel through the sea in order to have more safety and for their convenience. But those travels were not for entertainment such as nowadays but were for professional, health and religious reasons.

Ancient Greeks used to go to a lot of sanctuaries in order to participate in concerts or to attend Olympic Games. Several times they were traveling to participate in festival like Panathenaea. Ιn addition, another destination was the Oracle of Delphi where they were asking deity's opinion regarding personal problems.
